ranunculus love

Kodak Portra 400 NC

I have little self control when I see ranunculus at the market.  As you can see from the first image, my daughter loves them too!

I’m really sad that Kodak has discontinued this film – the colors are so beautiful.  It’s almost as if I’m not shooting with a camera as old as I am!

I didn’t know they are discontinuing Portra 400 NC (this is my favorite film!), so I googled it and found a few snarky Flickr threads about them morphing the 400 NC and VC into Portra 400. Maybe it won’t be so bad. I just wish I had this news a few days ago when I ordered seven rolls of film, only two of which are Portra.ReplyCancel

Yes, Lindsay – I’ve heard the same thing about the combined Portra 400. Just ordered some of this new film myself, and I’m hoping it’s just as good!ReplyCancel

hehehe, well you know how i feel about these flowers 😛

i like the new portra but it’s just not quite as soft and pastel-y as the 400nc, so i am still sad it is being discontinued!ReplyCancel

I have a confession. I’ve been back to check out these beauties 3 or 4 times already. They are gorgeous!!! These are quickly becoming my favorite flower. I wish I could fine them at our local markets, but even more I wish they were a perennial around here! I’d have them all over my garden :) just lovely, A… I love the light and perspective!ReplyCancel

Thanks so much for your kind words!

Jan, ranunculus is mostly available in the Spring. I find it at my local Whole Foods Market. I checked Massachusetts, and there are some locations there as well.ReplyCancel
