apple picking

I visited an apple orchard for the very first time this past weekend.

One of my girls did not want to walk.  The other did not want to carry her apples.  So this mama carried a toddler, a basket of apples, and heavy dslr around an orchard all morning.  Exhausting!  I’m amazed that I was even able to capture these shots.

Any tasty apple recipes?  Suggestions welcome.

you know I have never been to an orchard, either! I wished I had gone this year but the time has slipped away! :) I would say try simple Baked Apples. As I remember from when I was a child, you just have to stick the apple in a small bowl (you can core it first or not), sprinkle a pat of butter and cinnamon on the top, and microwave for like a minute or until warm & soft. YUM! it tastes like apple pie filling, but more wholesome. Enjoy!ReplyCancel

When I was growing up, we went to the orchard every Fall for apples & cider. Such fun. When i have an abundance of apples, I make ‘stewed apples.’ just peel then, cut in chunks, boil low with cinnamon, sugar, nutmeg & butter. Let them boil down till apples get sort of soft, then let them cool – my son loves it – better than applesauce! Enjoy :-)ReplyCancel
