some time for me

undefinedundefinedundefinedFuji Superia 400

I can’t remember the last time I had three hours alone.

But this weekend, I enjoyed some time to myself.  I didn’t tote around a diaper bag, or a stroller, nor snacks and juice boxes “just in case”.  It was just me, my laptop, my Pentax, and coffee – and it felt good, funny – but, good.

I know that I need a chance to rest, to rejuvenate, to be the best I can for my girls.

And the greeting I get when I return?  The smiles and the screaming – makes me feel like a total rock star! And that, my friends, is priceless.

This is such a simple post, but one of the most refreshing ones I’ve read in a long time. Amen to ‘me-time’! It’s much needed to be the best parents (and people) we can be!ReplyCancel

Oh yes I’ve always been a big believer in alone time. I’m glad you got a chance to treasure some. And I smiled as I read that you feel like a rock star when you come home! Such a sweet thing to be loved, isn’t it? xxReplyCancel

I always feel like a rock star too!! That is the perfect way to describe it. Both my boys around 18 mos were total mommas boys. They would put up quite a fuss whenever I left them anywhere without me. But I always say, they only miss me so much because I am awesome! It is quite the ego boost when you come back and they are thrilled.ReplyCancel

  • […] Thanks so much for your wonderful comments on my previous post.  It’s so good to know that many of you feel the same […]ReplyCancel

Oh man I remember those days. I’ve always been the type to need ‘alone time’ but it was so difficult to find when the kids were younger. Now that they’re teenagers they hide in their rooms so now I have quite of bit of ‘alone time’! LOL!

Enjoy those precious moments by yourself. Every mom needs them.ReplyCancel

it is priceless isn’t it i always got my girls to run to the door to meet daddy when he came home from work, not that they needed much urging they loved it when he would walk in and swing the high in the air or blow big zirbitty kisses on their necks, the giggles make me smile still. Glad you enjoyed your precious break.ReplyCancel
