I hope you had a great Easter weekend.

This year’s Spring weather was simply gorgeous.

A few photography projects that I have inspired me lately…

+ Between Girls, a passage to Womanhood – Photographer Karen Marshall captures the emotional bond between girls from age 16 and their identities as women today in their 40s.

+  The Value of a Dollar – Photographer Jonathan Blaustein captures pictures of real food – at the cost of exactly one dollar.

I’m going to take the next couple of days to enjoy with my family.  I’ll be back next week with more to share.

Happy Easter!

Sunday brunch is becoming a ritual in my home.

He likes to cook, I like to photograph – the perfect combination.

We have a similar situation with the cooking/photography. However, you have much better light at your table, and I’m jealous. I think the kitchen at our new house will be very light — now I just need to find a table! :)ReplyCancel

  • Magali - April 6, 2012 - 5:18 pm

Love those kind of situations. I use this film with my Polaroid land camera but the depth with your is sooo much more beautiful.ReplyCancel

    beautiful tones!ReplyCancel

As much as I love early morning light, there is something about shadows and light that draws me.

I think it’s the mood, really.

Not quite light.

Not quite dark.

Just right.

  • Daniella - April 2, 2012 - 11:44 am

    Beautiful!ReplyCancel

  • Diane - April 3, 2012 - 11:39 pm

I love the depth in this photo…how you captured the rich color in the background with the silhouette of the pot in front.ReplyCancel

Welcome to the newest little members of our plant family.  I think they will fit in quite nicely.

These are all taken with 35mm Kodak Portra 400 film, overexposed by one stop – which makes it seem more like the Portra 400nc film that I loved so much, but has been discontinued.

Off to enjoy my weekend!

Update: These plants are all little succulents.

Captures from my weekend – I love when my husband comes home with wine and fresh flowers.  He cooked a wonderful dinner on Friday.  It’s funny how we have reached the point where we prefer to stay in and enjoy a meal in our home.

Did I mention I’m loving this black and white film?  I’m learning the quirks of peel apart film, the results capture a little bit of “realness” for me.

Oh I’m so jealous of that camera! Which model is it? I’ve been wondering if it’s hard to shoot with the color film since it’s such a slow speed?ReplyCancel

    • A. Jarrett - March 31, 2012 - 11:06 am

      Hi Melody,

      Natasha is a Polaroid 250 Land Camera – love!ReplyCancel

Such a good weekend.

So much to share.

Not enough time.  Isn’t that always the case?

But for now, a capture of my girls from this weekend – warm enough for spring dresses.

More soon….
