Film. Fuji Superia 400.
Shadows and light – the best light in my opinion~
Film. Fuji Superia 400. “She will take a picture of anything……” If it were just that simple. Just that easy. Anything? To you, it may be nothing. But for me – there will never be another moment like this one. Another time when the light is exactly how it is now. Every moment is unique, special, and is part of the story of my life. My family’s life. And so, I’ll keep my camera close. Photographing and documenting the simple times. The ordinary, the little details of my life.
Film. Fuji Superia 800. The tree is up. The house smells wonderful. Lights hung above the fireplace and in the kitchen. Little feet are covered in socks. Warm fires every night. I’m starting to hear the infamous question, “How many days….” It’s that time of year again. It’s been a while since I’ve looked forward to the holidays. This year, I can’t wait.
Polaroid 600 Film. I wish I could tell you a great story about this chimney. But there are debates about its’ origin. Some people believe that it was erected post World War II. And others believe that it dates back to the 1800’s. I’m sure there are many stories to tell. Regardless, I love the unexpected beauty of this chimney. ************ A quick thank you to Daniella for inviting me to be a part of her “for the love of film” series. If you have a free moment, you can read my answers to her questions here. P.S. I’m down to my last pack of Polaroid 600 film ~
Film. Fuji Superia 400. It’s been a while. And I have surely missed this space. I’m slowly making my way back….. A few links: + I’m enjoying Brian’s new book, Quality of Life + Amanda’s teaching a new film photography e-course + Falling more and more in love with instagram (you can find me: @thesweetlight).
I’ll be back soon, promise. I’m still in a season of change, but things are settling down nicely. I hope that you are well!
Film. Kodak Porta 400. Fall is proving to great so far. Filled with friends and gatherings, sweaters and coffee, evening fires and long chats. More soon….. A little portfolio update to share – still a work in progress.
Film. Kodak Portra 400. I’m an only child. I’m the oldest, youngest, middle child – all in one. I don’t know what it’s like to have a sister. But as fate would have it, I am a mother to sisters. I don’t quite know what it’s like to have a little sister who wants to be just like me and do everything that I’m doing. And I don’t know what it’s like to have an older sister to show me things and look after me. I’d like to think that I’m creating memories for them. That one day they’ll sit together over coffee and share a laugh about how their mother took photos of random, everyday things, made them share a room longer than necessary, kiss and make up even when they didn’t want to, hold hands when they walked down the stairs, and wipe away each others tears only because this is what I believe sisters ought to do. And if this were to happen, I would consider my job well done.
Film. Kodak Portra 400. A bit of exploring last weekend. I’m finding that I’m not a big fan of the Portra. I like the old Portra 400nc. By far, my favorite film is Kodak Ektar. Working on a few projects that I hope to share soon. Is it really the last weekend in October?

Beautiful!
How true and beautifully captured here. Love the coffee tones too.

Very pretty light, and the hardwood floor looks amazing, too.
So beautiful and so very inspiring. I would love to take photos like these…

Lovely light, indeed. I could see myself curled up in that chair with a stack of books/magazines. The floors look great, too. I love and long for hard wood floors.
Gorgeous light in these..and nothing beats good ol’ fashioned film!
definitely!
