Film. Fuji Superia 400.

“She will take a picture of anything……”

If it were just that simple.  Just that easy.  Anything?

To you, it may be nothing.

But for me – there will never be another moment like this one.

Another time when the light is exactly how it is now.

Every moment is unique, special, and is part of the story of my life.  My family’s life.

And so,  I’ll keep my camera close.

Photographing and documenting the simple times. The ordinary, the little details of my life.

  • Pink Ronnie - December 8, 2011 - 9:48 pm

I think it’s these little details that make life so rich. Every one of these shots is beautiful and poignant.

Film. Fuji Superia 800.

The tree is up.

The house smells wonderful.

Lights hung above the fireplace and in the kitchen.

Little feet are covered in socks.

Warm fires every night.

I’m starting to hear the infamous question, “How many days….”

It’s that time of year again.

It’s been a while since I’ve looked forward to the holidays.

This year,  I can’t wait.

  • Rachel Del Grosso - December 5, 2011 - 10:46 am

Polaroid 600 Film.

I wish I could tell you a great story about this chimney.  But there are debates about its’ origin.  Some people believe that it was erected post World War II.  And others believe that it dates back to the 1800’s.  I’m sure there are many stories to tell.  Regardless, I love the unexpected beauty of this chimney.

************

A quick thank you to Daniella for inviting me to be a part of her “for the love of film” series.  If you have a free moment, you can read my answers to her questions here.

P.S. I’m down to my last pack of Polaroid 600 film ~

  • traceykinohio - December 4, 2011 - 8:39 am

That IS an unexpected beauty!!! I love finding that kind of stuff. The chimney standing alone gives way to many stories of the imagination. Great post :-)ReplyCancel

Film. Kodak Portra 400.

I’m an only child.  I’m the oldest, youngest, middle child – all in one.  I don’t know what it’s like to have a sister.  But as fate would have it, I am a mother to sisters.

I don’t quite know what it’s like to have a little sister who wants to be just like me and do everything that I’m doing.  And I don’t know what it’s like to have an older sister to show me things and look after me.

I’d like to think that I’m creating memories for them.  That one day they’ll sit together over coffee and share a laugh about how their mother took photos of random, everyday things, made them share a room longer than necessary, kiss and make up even when they didn’t want to, hold hands when they walked down the stairs, and wipe away each others tears only because this is what I believe sisters ought to do.

And if this were to happen, I would consider my job well done.

  • Rachel - October 28, 2011 - 11:52 am

Such a sweet entry. Love your words.ReplyCancel

  • GayleV - October 31, 2011 - 5:07 pm

Film. Kodak Portra 400.

A bit of exploring last weekend.

I’m finding that I’m not a big fan of the Portra.  I like the old Portra 400nc.  By far, my favorite film is Kodak Ektar.

Working on a few projects that I hope to share soon.

Is it really the last weekend in October?

  • Daniella - October 26, 2011 - 10:05 am

These are so pretty! hardly looks like October at all!ReplyCancel

  • Rachel Del Grosso - October 26, 2011 - 12:14 pm

Oh don’t say you don’t like Porta 400…. I just fell in love with it :)
Mind you, I haven’t tried Ektar, perhaps I should!

Love these photos. They make me miss Ontario!ReplyCancel

  • traceykinohio - October 27, 2011 - 7:31 am

Ahh…. exploring is my favorite thing to do.So many treasures to be found. Took a 2 hour photo walk this past weekend; filled the camera with great things! :-) Love the little stream here. Good stuff!ReplyCancel

  • Jay - October 27, 2011 - 12:53 pm

I bought some film but hadn’t had the chance to shoot them yet.. It’s crazy how October flew by.ReplyCancel

  • Sylvia @ From the Heart - October 27, 2011 - 9:30 pm

That bench is in a perfect spot between the two trees.

I think I may do some exploring this weekend too. I feel like going for a drive/photowalk and looking for something pretty to photograph.ReplyCancel

  • suzie - November 7, 2011 - 7:31 am

These are so pretty but I must admit I was disappointed by the new portra too!ReplyCancel

  • Dottie - March 24, 2012 - 6:37 pm

I’m late here, but wanted to say that I’m not a fan of the Portra 400, either. Ektar 100 is my favorite now; Portra 400nc used to be my favorite. Now if I want a softer look, I cross over brands and buy some Fuji 400H. I see that you’re still posting many photos from 400nc. Did you stock up earlier or is there a place you buy it online? I regret not stocking up last year.

By the way, I adore your photos.ReplyCancel
