Lovely shots. I’ve got some film on its way to me and I’m pretty excited about it! I’ve got some T-max 400 B&W and Kodak Porta coming my way. I’ll toss those into the Nikon FM that was passed down to me from my late grandpa and I’ll be on my way!ReplyCancel

I loved your your comments on my previous post.   And yes, this community is as quiet and peaceful as it seems.  We will definitely be back!

Film. Kodak Ektar 100.

I received my film back from the photo lab of our weekend in Santa Rosa Beach.  Even though we missed the bright sun and warm weather, there is a solemn comfort I find in these images – the grey clouds, the darkness, the wrinkled sheets.

I have a few more images from the beach and our rental that I’ll share with you this week.

  • Mary - September 13, 2011 - 5:57 pm

I love the simplicity and clutter-free-ness of a beach house that you only visit now and then. Whenever I come home, I always try to replicate that peaceful feeling in my own house- to no avail! I think it comes down to paring down…and being happy with less stuff and more moments of zen..ReplyCancel

Slowly trying to get back in a groove.  In every aspect of my life.

Summer is winding down. The days are shorter.  I reached for a sweater yesterday, such a great feeling.

Have to agree with the others, the babies hand and piano is a great photo. Just noticed you are shooting film as well, very cool. I would love to get a film camera again one day!ReplyCancel

We’ve had these plans for months – the Florida Panhandle, Santa Rosa Beach, a summer rental, Labor Day.  My oldest looking forward to the beach, my baby’s first time at the beach.

Tropical Storm Lee had other plans.  It rained all weekend.  But there were a few pockets of beauty.  A few quiet moments that we had on the beach.  This is the first time these little feet have touched sand, my friends.  Too bad we didn’t make it to the water!

But our timing could not have better, actually.  We stayed indoors most of the weekend – Listening to the rain beating on the tin roof of our rental, the pitter and patter of little feet running through the house, talking and laughing and eating.  Enjoying one another’s presence.  Exactly what we needed.  It’s felt good to go with the flow for a change.

  • Po - September 6, 2011 - 8:53 am

That sounds lovely! I hope your baby loved the sand! :)ReplyCancel

  • tracey k in ohio - September 6, 2011 - 4:35 pm

that first picture blows me away! from the sand to the sea to the clouds w/such subtle color. And those little feet are so precious. What a cozy time spent w/your lovies :-)ReplyCancel

  • Lucent Imagery - September 6, 2011 - 6:41 pm

  • beth - September 6, 2011 - 9:46 pm

we have vacationed in the panhandle every year, sometimes twice a year, for the past 13 years.
we always stay in seaside or watercolor and after all these years, the panhandle owns a little piece of our hearts.
i SO SO SO hope you can go back when the weather allows for days at the beach….and nights, too.
october in the panhandle is spectacular….our favorite month actually.
thanks for bringing a little bit of what i love to the screen for me to see :)ReplyCancel

    • A. Jarrett - September 7, 2011 - 9:16 pm

Thanks so much for your kind words, beth. We will definitely make a trip back to the panhandle. We actually rode our bikes through Seaside and Watercolor – they are beautiful.ReplyCancel
