I love how your pretty pictures make me wonder. A story is drawn out of each.

Very dramatic but in a happy kind of way.

We just broke our fourth French press carafe this year. Fourth! I was so annoyed. So we bought a less attractive shatterproof one.

This is very pretty. Makes me want a cup right now. :)ReplyCancel

A couple of images I photographed recently at a friend’s home.  I’m always in search of soft, natural light – and her space did not disappoint.

I always feel at home in her presence…..

This is a lovely house!! The staircase wood, the old cabinet, the light kitchen with tons of light…sigh! The blanket draped over the sofa is saying “come relax on me!” :) I wish my house was half as clean or had as much character. So pretty.ReplyCancel

Trying to find the perfect spot for plants is always a challenge.  Some places are too bright, others too dark.

It’s the same as people, I suppose.  Everyone has their favorite spot at home, right?  The place where we soak up the sunshine, or curl up in the dimly lit space that fits us so well.

It just takes a little trial and error to find that perfect sweet spot….

  • Nori - July 28, 2011 - 8:23 am

Love this post (especially since my houseplants will soon be going through their transitional period- right now they’re outside, and all I do is worry about having to bring them back in). Great pics too!ReplyCancel

  • Whitnee - July 28, 2011 - 3:51 pm

there is simply not enough light in our home for house plants. it makes me sad. and yes, we all congregate in our bed/bedroom because that’s where the best light is. hope you are settling in okay!!ReplyCancel

  • tracey k in ohio - July 29, 2011 - 11:22 am

I don’t have good lighting in my house for houseplants either, Whitnee :-( The way my house is situated, plus my 10,000 foot high willow tree doesn’t allow sunshine in, which is a good & bad thing. Good post, Mrs. Jarrett – I like how you compared this to people :-)ReplyCancel
